We announce the call for films for the 6th edition of IMPACTE! Human Rights Film Festival of Catalunya:
– In Person: 5–11 April 2027 in Barcelona
– Online: Spanish streaming platforms (dates to be confirmed, in 2027)
– Partial Editions: different Catalan cities (dates to be confirmed, in 2027)
Submission period: August 20th to October 31st, 2026.
FILMS
We are looking for stories that denounce injustices and human rights violations around the world; films that combine rigorous research with narrative and cinematic treatment capable of impacting the critical spirit of broad audiences, whether in fiction or documentary format.
We are interested in criticism, but we also want fight, denunciation, the defense of rights, and the proposal of alternatives: mutual aid, solidarity, cooperation…
Themes are open, but they must always be related to Human Rights—both traditional and of the new generation—Global Justice, and the Culture of Peace.
In this 6th edition, we will dedicate a section to reflecting on war and peace, conflict and agreement, so we hope to receive films on these themes.
We will also be launching a dedicated section for NGO productions, so we encourage these organizations to submit videos and films that serve as case studies of their projects and their audiovisual communication.
We are also especially interested in receiving films aimed at children’s and young adult audiences.
Other topics will not be considered.
AWARDS
A specialized jury will award two honorary prizes among the selected Feature Films and Medium-length Films, while the Short Film Prize will be chosen by audience vote at the specific screenings:
– IMPACTE! Award for Best Film
– IMPACTE! Award for Human Value
– IMPACTE! Award for Best Short Film
An original trophy will be awarded to each winning film, accompanied by a certificate with the Jury’s verdict.
The official laurel of the IMPACTE! Human Rights Film Festival of Catalonia will be offered to all selected films, and the respective prize laurel to each of the award winners.
