Sasha Skochilenko is an artist from St. Petersburg. She was the first to speak out against the ‘special military operation’ in Ukraine: she changed the price tags in a supermarket and put information about the war on them. Now Sasha is in prison, awaiting trial for “spreading false information and expressing hostility towards the Russian armed forces”. Through the eyes of her partner Sonia and her friend Lyosha, we witness the court proceedings up close, the exposed absurdities and inhumanity of the Russian legal system, and the threats that Sasha’s group of supportive friends face in daily life. They wait for more than 18 months for the final verdict, which will most likley be ruthless and “exemplary”.
