About us 5th edition

IMPACTE! Human Rights Film Festival of Catalonia is an independent socio-cultural initiative which aims at stimulating dialogue and social awareness on aspects related to Human Rights and Global Justice, through thought-provoking quality films.

Human rights are a growing concern globally on today’s societies, with an increasing number of abuses coming to light as awareness and activism spread around the world. Catalans, known for their empathy and commitment to justice, have a long history of advocacy. Barcelona, a city synonymous with solidarity, is a prime example.

On the other hand, cinema is a powerful tool for raising awareness; it allows us to bring to light and share compelling stories, to denounce injustices beyond their immediate surroundings, and to connect with distant audiences. With a wealth of high-quality films being produced worldwide, there’s no shortage of inspiring and thought-provoking content. IMPACTE! will showcase a curated selection of films that are both engaging and cinematically excellent.

The Human Rights Film Festival of Catalonia is the first of multiple projects  by Associació Impacte. Cinema i Drets Humans that will launch initiatives to promote and raise awareness of human rights through various audiovisual media, reaching diverse audiences across different platforms and contexts.

Committed to a human rights-based approach, the organization upholds all international human rights norms, both traditional and emerging, and embraces the principles of interculturality, gender equality, and sustainability.
