In this long take, Ismael is thrown into prison and held incommunicated. In his solitude he hears a voice coming from inside the prison. He tries to answer it, but he cannot hear it. While he continues to try, the camera shows the drawings on the walls indicating the passing of time. Great and desperate, after years he manages to respond by whistling and his face fills with joy, which foreshadows the imminence of his death.
