Pere Joan Ventura

He studied film technique and language at the Aixelà School in Barcelona. Since 1972 he has worked as a camera operator, graphic reporter, producer, photographer and assistant director. He is one of the founding members of the militant film collective “Grup de Producció”, dedicated to the shooting of news material for television and short films. Parallel to a long period as a graphic reporter at TVE News (1985-2007), he has directed several television productions, including “Los años vividos” (1990-1992), for which he won the Ondas International Award 1992, and “Me estoy quitando” (1999). In 2001 he made “El efecto Iguazú”, which won the Goya Award for best documentary. In 2004 he won the Goya for “¡Hay motivo!”, where he made “Cena de capitanes”, one of 32 short films. He is currently dedicated to making documentaries and short films.
