SYNOPSIS

The film is set in Ciudad del Carmen, in Campeche, specifically in the year 2018 when five oil tankers belonging to the company Oceanografía get trapped offshore. Since then, no one has being held accountable. Not even the company itself. Consequently, marine biodiversity has been threatened by the presence of fuel in the waters, especially in Laguna de Términos, the most important mangrove area in the country. At the same time, more than two thousand workers have seen their rights violated. Not only have they been left without work, but they are also waiting for their wages. Through the eyes of a group of fishermen from the island who are affected by the discovery of the second largest oil field in the world, Villalba denounces the degradation of environmental and labor conditions promoted by the savage capitalism of the 21st century.
