Erik Jasaň is a Slovak film director who completed the “Advanced Studies in Film Language” at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava, Faculty of Film and Television. As a filmmaker, he focuses on sensitive topics that locally impact the people of Slovakia. His debut short film, THE PROFESSIONAL PARENT, has been selected for the Cannes Short Film Corner, which will take place during the 2025 Festival de Cannes. The film received an Honorable Mention at the 44th Thomas Edison Film Festival (Oscar® qualifying) and was officially selected at the 24th Festival Internacional de Cine de Lebu (Oscar® qualifying), the 20th HollyShorts Film Festival (Oscar® qualifying), and the 17th Bali International Film Festival (Oscar® qualifying). Erik is a recipient of the Award from the Association of European Cities for Peace for his literary work in the competition “The Well Secretly Talks to the Rain”.
