Dominika is a documentary filmmaker who explores protagonists in existential situations, capturing their stories with sensitivity and a light touch—free of pathos even in challenging circumstances. Her films aim to inspire viewers to believe that change is possible without losing one’s sense of self. After earning a law degree in Vienna and studying film directing in Bratislava, Dominika embraced a minimalist approach to filmmaking, treating the camera as a window into the world around her. She focuses on themes such as human and indigenous rigths, migration, and the war in Ukraine, reflecting her passion for telling stories that delve into social and political complexities. In addition to her independent film work, she freelances as an audiovisual consultant and creator for various international organizations and NGOs.
