The film presents a frightening portrait of how Viktor Orbán, an acolyte of Donald Trump, has been systematically destabilizing Hungary’s democratic institutions. The documentary sounds a warning to all of the world’s democracies by reconstructing the history of Orbán’s relentless work to build a Christian, white, autocratic state. But in the midst of this dark trail of authoritarianism, there is vital resistance. Through the testimony and activism of three Hungarian women, we see what must be done to try to stop this regressive force, and defend our rights and freedoms.
