Synopsis

El gran somni d’Hazal, alemanya filla de turcs és que Alemanya li doni una oportunitat. Pel seu 18è aniversari, vol escapar de la rutina diària i festejar amb les seves amigues. Però un incident fatal ho canvia tot i Hazal es veu obligada a fugir, i fa cap a Turquia. Elbow explica la història d’una jove que es veu empesa als marges de la societat i està decidida a mantenir-se fidel a ella mateixa.

Nascuda a Berlín, Asli Özarslan va estudiar a la Universitat de Bayreuth i a la Université Sorbonne IV de París del 2007 al 2011. Després d’aquesta etapa, va realitzar treball editorial per a 3sat Kulturzeit, ZDF, l’estudi estranger d’ARD a Varsòvia. Del 2012 al 2017, va estudiar direcció de cinema documental a la Filmakademie Baden-Wüttemberg. ‘INSEL 36’ (2014) i la seva pel·lícula de graduació, ‘DIL LEYLA’ (2016), van guanyar premis internacionals i nacionals. El seu llargmetrage debut ‘Ellbogen’ (2024) va tenir la seva estrena mundial a la 74a Berlinale, a la secció Generació.
